Another BFC vdieo from South Africa featuring the DeViller brothers. Besides them doing some sick little tricks with both of them on the boom, one of them does a trick I haven’t seen before.
I’ve seen barefoot front flips before, but never have I seen with a twist. Luckily they slow it down so you can really see it.
These guys make this tricks look way too easy.

BFC had a challenge to see who could also do the Overhead 360. Well Chris Morrison stepped up to the plate. Not only does he do an overhead 360, but he does a reverse too! He’s also a fan of the dolphin start. Not a whole lot else new. Check it out…

It’s that time of year again… the folks in Crandon, WI are putting together THE FIGURE-8 TOURNAMENT of the year. The competition is always fast and furious. They’ll be big names in the barefooting world showing up to compete that fall on their face and no names that surprise the hell out of everyone. They’ll be guys wearing the pinks shirts to let people know who they lost to. The boys from South Africa will be there trying to show they got some endurance skills to go with their mad trick skills.
This year MasterCraft and Redline have teamed up to pull FootStock 2008 with a revved up engine with over 400hp! Andre’s footing ability is just sick.
This BFC video’s footing is set to the haunting song Tusk by Fleetwood Mack. In this video we finally hear them admit that doing this tricks that just blow your mind are EASIER on the super fly high. Then they try them long line. Many props for that. Trying the overhead 360 long line is tough!
We also finally learn the name of the unique start they like to do. They call it dolphining up. They kind of do a dolphin kick to propel themselves out of the water and then pull their legs in front of them to pop up. They do this trick long line too. Then he does this back deep start with the rope held in front of him between his legs. Anyways, enjoy the video and watch it all the way through for the out takes.

After a couple months of dodging rain drops and then waaaaay tooooo mucchhh driving, I’m back. For me, the summer has been a bummer in regards to barefooting. I’ve hit the water about 5 times to go footing so far… usually I’ll hit the water 5 times a week to go footing. Enough of me whining and on to the video.
BFC has been busy making videos down in Texas. The first video I’ll review this week starts off with Andre talking about his Checkmate Suit with Chuck. Normally, this would be just total fluff, but Andre is actually doing something pretty cool with his suit. As he tours the world, he’s getting the world’s best to sign his suit in the various boxes the suit is made up off. The dolphin kick start still looks pretty cool, but the highlight would be at the end when he tries the overhead 360 and makes it on his 2nd try. The back tumble up on the boom is pretty slick too. A while back there was a huge debate on Super Fly Highs and their impact on barefooting over in the BFC forums. If you watch the video you see Andre doing some jumps while footing. The only people I’ve seen get more air hit a ramp so I think the argument about Super Fly Highs (SFH) not helping a barefooter is moot. They provide a fair amount of upward pull (aka lift) that a skilled barefooter can take advantage of.
I’m not saying the footers that do the crazy insane tricks on the SFH’s aren’t good footers. They are. They are usually very good footers, but the SFH is helping them with learn some of these insane tricks. If they start doing these tricks long line, they’ll have taken their skills to a whole new level.

The world of wakeboarding has Dallas Friday as one of it’s leading ladies. She’s a phenomenal wakeboarder, widely recognized as one of the best in the sport, who looks just as good as she boards. Here’s a picture of her holding a wakeboard as she poses on the sun deck of a Malibu Boat (yeah, she’s got a boat sponsor.)

Let the debate begin!
Just wondering if anyone knows if the Kwahamot Figure-8 (Saturday in Tomahawk, WI) and Silver Sheet Figure-8 Challenge (Rolling Prairie, IN) happened this past weekend (not sure if the weather/flooding had any impact on them) and if so, who won?
I’ve scoured the net for results and keep coming up empty. Anyone out there know what happened?
Michael Franks mailed in his recap of the barefoot figure 8 tournament to BFC… he’s got a few more first hand details, since he was actually present at the tourny. Head on over to Barefoot Central and check out the recap. There’s some pictures of the “weather” there too.

Just wanted to do a quick recap of what happended this past Saturday at the Mad-City Dual…
The wind was windy, the bay was still relatively sea weed free (at least at the surface) and the weather provided some excitement for everyone…
With the wind blowing strong in Madison, the normlly calm bay, proved to be a bit rougher than normal. Rougher to the point that the longest 8 of the day was half an 8, which was put up by Paul Stokes. Ironically, if the bay had been weedier, the water would have been calmer, but you can’t have everything.
Roughly 18 to 20 footers suited up for the off again, then back on again, figure 8 tournament. From what I heard, there were supposed to be a few more, but they opted out at the last minute. There was a group from Michigan that made the long haul to Madison for the tourny and they had a good time.
Paul Stokes added another ring to the Mad-City Dual Championship Ring collection that he has going, but not before he missed a step off… rumor on the street is Frank the Tank has a good series of pictures of this rare event. Meanwhile Footstock Dave managed to catch a lot of the many falls on video, which once posted, should provide a lot of entertainment.
Afterwards, most of the footers headed over to Olin Park for some frosty beverages at the Clean Lakes Festival. They arrived in time to catch a bit of the bands, drink some beer and eat some foot before the weather kicked into high gear. It went from a hot, muggy day to pretty cool in a matter of moments, storms popped up out of nowhere, we saw clouds moving in a circular motion over the lake as everyone kept drinking beer until the festival was called to do severe weather.
Props to the One Love Footing Team for putting this together with Paul Stokes and congrats to Stokes for winning yet again.
I’m hoping to get some more first hand details, pictures, and potentially some video to post from this event.
I guess this recap became a little bit longer than I thought it would be.
