Evolution of Show Skiing Dance

At the Wisconsin State Show Ski Tournament, the highest scoring act for Mad-City, the highest scoring comedy act and the highest scoring act of the entire tournament was done by one man. Mr. Adam Schaller. He’s got a little dance routine that proves to be quite funny. Many people know the Evolution of Dance. Well, that’s what we did, but we put a show ski twist to it. Same premise, but we incorporated a lot of the songs that Mad-City has used over the years for our various dances. So presented here is the Evolution of Show Skiing Dance from our National’s show. It is almost the same as state, just a little bit shorter, and sadly, a couple less songs. Enjoy.

The Jaw Dropper (It is even Awesommer!!!)

At Nationals, Mad-City won the highest scoring jump act award (in addition to a National Championship in 2006). Typically, this goes to a large jump team doing a lot of multi-person jumps. Not this year. This year we had the Jaw Dropper. One man and his driver were responsible for it. We sent Mr. Paul O’Conner over the ramp three times. Boat barely left the show course. Crowd LOVED it!!! Here is the video from YouTube.

Awesome

For those that know show skiing, you know what I mean. For those that don’t, this is a slick act and worthy of the title to this post. I mentioned this in my Nationals Recap, now someone has posted video. Enjoy Wonder Lake’s Prefabricated Pyramid Hot Pick/Thread the Needle… Worthy of the highest scoring pyramid act at Nationals.

Last does of Pearl Jam for a while…

At least on the blog. I listen to them near constantly… I was looking out at YouTube to see if there were any clips from the Milwaukee shows. I didn’t see any, but did find these two clips… The first is rather funny. The second is just a great song. Enjoy.

Yes, I’ve done early spring and late fall skiing…

…and many people think I’m a little nutz, but these guys make me look down right normal. Besides the way they treat the boat (dropping it in through the ice and driving it through the ice), it is their skiing and driving that is just down right scary. You’d think if they were this die hard, they’d be better. You’d also think they would have a good driver. Nothing like gunning it when there is 10 feet left before the rope comes tight. The guy wearing the heavy red flannel shirt, no way would I ski behind him based on what I’ve seen in this video.

I may have posted a link to this once before, but I couldn’t find it, so here goes…

BTW, they have one good point… There are no jet skis in November.

Air Piano?

Now this is no where near waterskiing or movie related, but every once in a while I’ll post something a little off the wall. A friend sent me a link to a great article over at espn.com by Bill Simmons titled The YouTube Hall of Fame. I haven’t made it through all the videos in the article yet, but one that jumped out was the Journey video “Seperate Ways”. Made me remember all of the other really bad videos from the 80s. Lots of pointless things happened in those videos and they all look like they were shot with my dads camcorder. Anyway, you can see the video below. The lead singer really gets into his performance. Gota love that. Plus, I’ve seen many people play air guitar and pretend to be playing the drums, but the air keyboardist player is my favorite part of the video. Like the lead singer, he is into his performance. Now, on to the show…

BTW, you can catch Journey at the Marcus Amphitheatre in Milwaukee on September 9, 2006.

Robot Chicken

For those who haven’t seen Robot Chicken, here is a taste…

Vader Make a Collect Call

Check it out. It’s part of the Adult Swim block on Cartoon Network. I’m really not sure when it’s on, my ReplayTV just records it automatically whenever it airs. Yes, it is that good.
